SM-100 becomes available in March 2015

SB Specialty Metals has entered an exclusive agreement with Puris to distribute SM-100 sheet products for blade steels. SM-100 is an alloy made up of 60% nickel and 40% titanium. The grade is corrosion proof, nonmagnetic, wear resistant and is able to achieve hardness levels of 62RC.NASA deemed SM-100 to be immune to corrosion in salt water. The unique combination of corrosion and wear resistance is unsurpassed by any other structural metal. SB will offer standard knife blanks as well as full sheets through the e commerce site. Inventories will be available starting in March 2015. This material has been in high demand, especially for the custom knife maker producing dive knives.
